Good Bye 2010, Hello 2011

Well, Happy New Year to me and to you too... Year of 2010 has gone with its own stories...many tales with many histories and stories of happines and sadness to everyone. But the TIME still faithfully fullfil its duty-is to complete the year by no complain..

Alot of things has been done last year..some are very succesfull and some not really did. For that some "not really done well", its ok because i believe my God always give me chance to improved it from times to times. Alot of good memories from last year that i would like to share here in order to treasure it aswell...

Year 2010 has been started with fun activities which picnicking to Teng Bukap. My h
ubby, me and our best friend-Simon and his wife had good time picnic here. Me and Lenisa also manage to cari siput tekoyong and siput keramboi...balik rumah petang tu, we had dinner at their house and Lenisa cooked the siput keramboi with wine. This is first time aku makan siput keramboi Sa..the siput keramboi's test was not bad...boleh cuba makan lagi next time..

Makan time during the picnic...you know, me and hubby once take our 2 dogs to this river, bu
t at the end we dont really enjoy our time mandi because busy chasing our dog yang suka menyukat dunia iteewww..hehehe next trip, we've got to tied them at the tree la dear! So that we enjoy mandi...ehehe lol..

Last year our office once again organize Open Day Program..it means to get all the staff together aswell to get public to know more about all agencies under the ministry of KPKK. Here are several activities organized that time.

This is our DJ t
ogether with the crew that day..for live radio broacast from the location.

Apart from that i manage to join 'bowling kelapa' event. Th
is is because everyone must take part in any event..ada dapat hadiah?

Pernah dengar? Versi ini digunakan di kalangan budak-budak sahaja.

Pemilihan AJK Persatuan Kayan Kuching telah diadakan April tahun 2010. Sebenarnya saya tak nak lah jadi komiti persatuan ni..banyak kerja woo...lol! Tapi kena pilih juga. Oklah, memikirkan orang Kayan di Kuching ni(perasan), terima jugalah perlantikan ni. Kalau tak mampu tolong dalam hal besar-besar, aku boleh tolong 'bara-bara' nun tua dengah dahin aktiviti peng anih..jan kah nak hukah lah. Deng kah anan tulung kui uk bareng...Akhirnya, sempat juga kami mengumpulkan orang Kayan (walaupun tidak semua) pepeng Kuman ha' ji resturen(bahasa Kayan) ha' Kuching tegu 10 Disember 2010.. semua sahabat dari bangsa lain pun ada malam tu.

Woohaaa!! Tq to my friend beri peluang terlibat dalam program u...

Bulan Jun juga Kelab Rekreasi kami menganjurkan Konsert Malam Setia Kasih untuk meraikan YAB Ketua Menteri sempena 25 tahun beliau telah membantu kami menjalankan beberapa aktiviti jabatan. Penyanyi undangan khas malm tu pula Datuk Siti Nurhaliza. It was a memorable nite aswell as i never see CT Nurhaliza ’live’ before. Good experiences also when it come to an agenda on how to organize such big event like that. Congrats to all our club Committee!

Hmmm...Cook Of The Day...here come the recipe from the master of the house..sekali sekala tolong masak, sangat-sangatlah melegakan Yang .. :D Macam ini lah..hehee..chop-chop-chop....lihat lok apa resipi nya tok.......uwaaahh gitewwwlah...

We had two dogs yang sangatlah cute, manja dan juga

Laman.
.hhmmmm i am so the suka bila hubby put up this little pintu gerbang di laman kami....sayangnya rebah kena ujan.. Nanti pasang lagi Dear..pakai simen saknya sik tumbang agik, boleh tanam bunga(criple plant) ok.

Attend our friend’s wedding in August. As request by the Bride and Groom, I sang that nite..2 songs.(Genggam Erat Hatiku and Ku Tak Sanggup)

In September, we flew to KL to join Worship God Conference at Damansara Utama Methodist Church. Hubby, me, big sista Ivy and her son Nigel together with some of the Praise and Worship team member from BI, Iban dan Chinese Ministry. There are 20 of us all together. Believe me, I really like this DUMC-they called it Dream Centre, Where Your Dream Come True. It was huge, got its own auditorium, got its own sport centre, its own bookshop, its own café, 1 complete music set in each seminar room, 5 services and so on and so on.. We had a good trip and learn new thing aswell or, atleast manage to ‘add in’ our knowledge. We meet Sidney Mohede as he is one of the speaker, Juwita Suwito, Gleen Packiam and the rest. Oh yea..we able to watched SidneyMohede's and Glenn Packiam concert aswell.

....now come November when the Dayak Artist Musician Award nite will be. I remember my friend Dines ask for my song few months before that, but tought it just for his ‘listening pleasure’ only. I don’t bother. Even he also ask me to join the association (DAMA). I pay for the registration fee, thinking that I might one day will benefit from the association as I also consider myself a singer (perasan) though I didn’t make singing as my full time career. I just register- not much questions. I have already been a committee member for DAMA award nite in way back of the year 2008. I know how does it feel to work as a committee member. A lot of preasure, lot of work and we work like mad for the seek of the successfulness of the event later. That is why I don’t bother to know what my friend is doing actually, as I realise his commitment toward his duty will be required.

The morning after the award nite, my friend sms me --- my song win!!! What???!!!! Blur-blur…never thought that he nominated my song. But the Big Thank You to him because believe in my song till he did that.

When my friend Dines and his wife came to our house to sent the award, me and hubby deicided to celebrate my winning for The Best Song for category Orang Ulu and The Best Producer for category Orang Ulu wih them.. Cun-cun my hubby bought a botol of red wine before that for our colections, so we apalagi, celebrate laah!!! But there is a story behind this award, especially for the Best Producer category... I just take it in a positive way. I just wonder how could people dared to deny my job?? Im doing it everyday and officialy its my duty as stated by SPA...and yet some people deny it..so I called it a DESPERATION case...desperate to ---> win. You are right Dines, enoughlah tulong orang yang akhirnya meludah di muka kita......

December is here again. Waaah big brother Anddy said our theme for this year is RED!!!! What?? Ehehhe adakah baju aku yang berwarna merah? Smart wear la…uppss tara ada oo..big brother said it must be RED and not maroon ok.. huahuahuaau me and hubby spend a day to find red outfit-----last-last we got it..ahaaha see the picture.there, all in red, right..cheeerrrsss averybody! Merry Christmas! God’s prosperity, peace and love be with us everyday...

But on the 25 morning I have to fly back to l
ong house Sg Asap as I got work to do there. Balik kampong dalam kerja. I have no chance to visit all relative as I rush to a seminar and to a concert( I perform) till the day I came back to Kuching.. But it was a great trip, eventhough I don’t have time to visit my uncles and aunties dan kazen mazen, apalagi…

My father playing his Sape’ during one engagement
occasion at our longhouse last December..TQ to my friend Nancy Maria Thomas for captured this beautiful picture.

Well, till then, stay BLESSED everyone!!!!!! My pray is that, God himself shall lead us in our path in this life's journey forever. To you FATHER in Heaven all the Glory and all my best Thanksgiving. Amen!

Melu Habong Ika' ~Mengutip Serpihan Kenangan~ Part 2

Before I go on, firstly, i would like to thank Brother Zebedee Zech (My kampung mate Rumah Juman) for allowing me to share his photo here. Well, those photo are very memorable one to me. I have our longhouse photo but not the sarounding area after we left, so since Bedee have it, so i tumpang lah. Thank you for 'landing' me the pictures ok, Bedee!

Well like i've shared before, my olden days are full of colours. There is hard times and aswell happy-happy or girang-girang times, but after all it is a very good 'teacher' to me personally. There is non compare to real life experiences. I'm glad because i came from kampung/ulu where i really could experiences life which i cannot enjoy or see right now. Example?? Well, the great and beautiful scenery of the nature? Great places for picnic..? The places which is rich with its natural sources to find foods, find timbers to build house, to get timber to make sampan, to find rotans to make tikar/mat - you name it....? That is life in the ulu . The natural resources is belong to anyone according to the kampung's teritorry. The kampung people could do farming serajin-rajin yang mampu.. if you rajin enough, your ladang will be bigger, you plant alot of fruit trees, lada's, koko's, padis' and etc. If you hungry, you just need to go in the jungle to hunt for foods, be it vegetables, to cacth fishes or to hunting wild boar. Only one key point is – You will never get hungry if you rajin enough to find food lah. That’s what my father always told me.

Now this is our rumah panjang punya pangkalan…full of stone kan???? Unlike the pangkalan of some kampongs, where only mud welcome the villagers or visitors. Our pangkalan ain’t like that, this is what we have. I still remember, there is times when Information officers come to the longhouse untuk buat ‘Wayang Pacak’. If that time is dry season, they will picnicking at the pangkalan, fishing at the river and sleep at their long boat, even though our Ketua Kampung already prepared place for them to sleep. Why? Because they want to enjoy the karangan, make camp fire, bbq and stay awake all night long. Amazing, kan?!!! That’s the life along this river bank, before.

Did you notice the pokok ara on the left?? Pokok ara ni terletak di bahagian hulu pangkalan tadi. . Notice there is a boat there? By the way, if you go futher up from the river bank, there is our school. Not far from that pokok ara is the big Stone where we always play games ‘tolaking’ each other, like I’ve mention in my entry before. That pokok ara is where we always get the ‘Buah Ara’ and eat it with our sambal garam+chilli..…Very the pedas you know….Garam secubit je, the chillis menggunung..! Guess what? We will panjat(climb) the pokok ara, and get the young fruits, jump down and eat it with our sambal under the tree. After that because kepedasan we will rrruuuuun and gedeguuuuummm!! We will jump into the river and drink the water aswell. You must know, before, during dry season, the water of the river is very clear and you will not hesitate to drink the water…right?

Now back to our childhood times.. here is the Bato’ Aya’ Behudik Jenawa (Big stone upper pangkalan) where me and my friends always playing games ‘ tolaking’ each other during the tide/air pasang. The current during that time is strong, and that is the best time aswell because we can swim around the Big Stone. The river level must up to your waist then only is the best time to tolak each other from this Big Stone. The rule are simple, siapa jatuh sungai, dia kalah… hahahahhaahahahah

You know, this is our pangkalan di sebelah hilir….terdapat longgokan kayu. Here we used to cari kayu api. This kayu api we called it ‘kayo’ asa’. During dry season, a lot of kayo’ asa will be found here. Why not, it has been exposed to the shusine and dry itself at the karangan. When the times come, it is ready to be kutip by us…. Did you notice the ‘soil’ at the river bank? And that ‘soil’ is not mud ok, it’s pasir….

Ok, could you see the big stone over the other side of the river.. we called it ‘Bato’ Dipah’ which mean ‘Batu Seberang’… During high tide, that area is very dangerous because the river will cover the surface of the stone and at the end it produces strong current… But, during dry season, the Bato’ Dipah will timbul because the water level is drop down and that is the time when we will swim across the river to get to bato’ dipah. Don’t play-play, the sungai is still dalam even though the water level is low, you know.. seram juga. I did follow other friends to swim to Bato Dipah several times and guess what? I only manage to reach Bato Dipah one time only! This is because I felt macam haunted lah pula while tried to swimm cross the Balui River to get to the Bato' Dipah....Though the water is clear but I still rasa seram-seram...! That one time when i managed to reach Bato' Dipah with my geng keras frens, we can see macam ada tangga lah pula menuruni batu tu ke dalam sungai…Truly! Ada cerita legenda sebenarnya Bato’ Dipah ni.. Ia berkaitan dengan ‘Uma Apun.’ If there is time I will write about the legend story in my next entry..(tak janji nih..)

Ok, you see the pondok buruk ni? If there is manusia tinggal di sini, believe me, this pondok will never look like this. Ini kerana we are forced to leave this place and has never abandon it for purpose. See, the hut is still in good condition even after more than 10 years it has been left alone.. This pondok we called it ‘Lepo Kelarah’ or pondok rehat. The villagers or visitors will take rest at this hut after their long journey from pangkalan. For older people, they will stop for awhile before continue their journey home. Jarak pangkalan dari rumah panjang boleh tahan jauh juge…naik level 1 baru pondok rehat..naik lagi level 2 baru lah rumah panjang. That’s why our long house never have problem kena banjir…..

Ini merupakan tapak rumah KetuaKampung.

Ok, this is our longhouse. Only the structure is still strong standing together with pillars, some of the wall left and the important parts of the house… All are made from Kayu Belian… see the quality..? That’s why its still standing until now.

Did you notice the ‘Lepo Kelarah’/Pondok Rehat? Thats only the Level 1. You need to climb level 2 in order to get to our rumah panjang. Safe.....we never face flash flood problem.
