My trip to my kampung at Sungai Asap is very add-hoc and in-prompt-tu....non that I have planned to go there. It just happen a week after our Late Temenggong Talek Lisut passed away. My aunty Ering told me that there are people who collect the derma for the family and ask me to give the donation to uncle Ellie because he is going back to Sg. Asap.
Thinking because Monday and Tuesday is public holiday for Hari Raya Aidilfitri, so we agree to go back for an overnight trip to send the derma aswell visit the family. Well, since the family only planned to do the funeral after 16 days later, so we still have chance to pay our last respect, aswell to represent our family. So with that, we agree to start our journey at 8pm Saturday nite. Pakai bas eeeyyyhh..!-just want to take venture though..there were 3 of us me, my sister Husun and aunty Ering.
Our planned is to meet uncle Ellie at Simpang Bakun-Bintulu. But when we reach at the Simpang Bakun at 7am, uncle still not there yet..of course, its too early. Then what we do is we just walk around and witnessing the citizens at that place on how they just started their day..some already wake-up, prepared the item to be sales and to open their stall, some ladies i saw already with their ayam panggang, hot dog and babi that i believed have been marinate overnite to be bbq in the mornig and those whom run the transportation services i see already waiting for the passengers. For that, not less have asked us if we need their service, but we nicely told them we were waiting for our relatives.
The Simpang Bakun
The dinstance between the Simpang Bakun to the Bakun Hidro Electric
The cowboy breakfast..but it was fun!
While waiting for uncle Ellie, we had our breakfast as I told my husband, is 'a cowboy style' breakfast, heheheh..see picture..actually one chinese guy who open the kedai runcit there had offer us few cup of hot nescaffee but we choose just to have mineral water only. BTW thanks fren.
While breakfast and chatting, and seeing people moved around I suddenly saw somebody - he is my cousin -a long lost cousin/kazen. He look like it sending somebody at the Simpang aswell. He is my first kazen from my father's side from Uma Bawang Long Murum. Last time, we was study at SMK Belaga, but in different class. The last time i see him is during SPM back in the year 1994 and then I move to Kuching to further study while through the news I heard he already got married. Alamak! Too early la, i said to myself..But does he cares? He have made the choice and I believe he knows what to do.
But now atleast he do something to take care of his family and sent his 3 kids to school. He do transportation besides plant some oil palm at his kebun at kampung. Lately, he become transporter to 6 researchers from Japan whom doing a research about picther plant over there. He charge them by trip. Eventhough he is the youngest in the family and been brought up in a wealthy family, atleast he turun padang and do something his own to get survive. Thats my long lost kazen - names Jiwa Imang.
At the end, my kazen help to transport us to my kampung! Thank you Lord for sending him there, at the right place and at the right time. Sayu kenep!
p/s: I will tell little bit about our journey to kampung in my next post..till then, thanks for drop by loyal readers.
